Entry Guidelines

Who can enter the 2010 Telstra Business Awards?

The business will be eligible to enter the 2010 Telstra Business Awards providing ALL of the following criteria are met.

The nominated business MUST:

  • Reside in Australia;
  • Have a registered Australian Business Number
  • Have been operating in Australia for at least 36 months as at Friday 16 April 2010; and
  • Be more than 60% Australian owned with the owner/s responsible for making the key management decisions.

The nominated business MUST NOT:

  • Have more than 200 full time equivalent (FTE) staff as at the close of entries date, 16 April 2010;
  • Be a listed company, a franchisee, franchisor, a club, co-operative or non-profit organisation;
  • Be more than 50% owned by another business;
  • Be either: (i) a recipient of significant ongoing government funding (i.e. the business is reliant upon the funding for operation); or (ii) a government agency;
  • Contain employees who have been involved in the judging of the Awards program in 2008 or 2009; or
  • Be a contracted commercial supplier to the 2010 Telstra Business Awards.
  • Have won an award in the same category in the preceding year however, the nominated business can enter a different category in 2010.

Starting your entry

Your online entry in the 2010 Telstra Business Awards comprises nine sections.

  • Sales and marketing
  • Your customers
  • Your team
  • Planning and performance
  • Financials
  • Innovation
  • Social Responsibility

You are required to answer ALL questions in each section.

The sections to be completed are located on the left toolbar. You can complete your entry in any order you choose, with your answers automatically saved as you respond.

Click on the section you are going to answer. The following colour system will assist you:

New Question The section has not been started
Partially Completed The section is partially complete.
Completed The section is completed.

Before you start, it’s a good idea to have as much information as possible on hand that’s relevant to each section.

For the ‘financials’ section you will need information for:

 
  • The financial years 2007/2008 and 2008/2009
  • For 2009/2010 please provide financial information based either on year-to-date results or full-year estimates

Please note: All financial information will be treated in the strictest confidence. This information will only be used for the purposes of judging your entry and preparing the Business Health Check report. This information will not be disclosed to anyone outside of this process. Businesses that proceed to the next stage of judging may be asked to provide written verification that the financial information provided is accurate.

If you do not complete the financial information in full, your entry will be declared ineligible and therefore not be accepted for Judging.

All hard copies of entries are securely destroyed, while electronic records of this entry will be securely stored by the Awards team for a period of 5 years for auditing and research purposes only.
