Judging Process

The Business Health Check is developed from your answers to the multiple choice questions and doesn’t form part of your score
Shortlist stage - the most outstanding businesses in each category, (in each state and territory) will be short-listed. If you make it to this stage, we’ll contact you to arrange a site visit. At this stage you will need to present confirmation of your financial data from your accountant
Site visits – take about two hours and will be run between May and June. We want to meet and talk to as many people as possible in your business including the owner/s. Unfortunately, due to tight timelines the site visits will be organised at short notice
Finalists will be announced about four weeks before the state/territory gala dinners where finalists are presented with a certificate on stage
The winners are announced and celebrated with gusto
All state and territory winners become national finalists and will travel to Sydney for an interview on 28 August 2012
The national winners are announced and celebrated, along with the 2012 Telstra Australian Business of the Year, at the National Gala Dinner in Sydney on 29 August 2012
