The business provides quality hardware systems to ensure space transformation and embrace architectural design. The business has expanded its original vision of ‘bringing the outside in,'through inventing the technology for bi-fold systems, including a revolutionary screening system. Founded in 1951, Centor Architectural employs 150 staff and has grown to be an international business with presence across four continents, with half its manufacturing, distribution and sales occurring outside Australia.

mumentum

mumentum provides practical parenting tools via an online retail store, product development and wholesale distribution. The products have evolved from an original range of innovative and practical planners for new parents. New Mother's Journal: A Practical Organiser was the first planner written by the pair of first time mothers, which was then followed by two related titles and three editions in the United States of America. The philosophy behind the mumentum range is to help parents feel organised and confident. Founded in 2004, mumentum products are currently distributed nationally and the business is also establishing export arrangements.

Clearmake

Clearmake designs and manufactures water treatment and recycling solutions for the commercial and industrial market. Equipment is currently used in over 3,000 businesses Australia wide to address oil, water and solids separation, water recycling, rainwater harvesting, storm water management and water treatment for re-use or safe discharge to the environment or sewer. Clearmake have also developed a range of environmentally friendly, biodegradable detergents and degreasers to further optimise equipment performance. Founded in 1993, the business is 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated.

Thomson Adsett Architects provide architecture and consultancy to a range of businesses domestically and overseas. Founded in 1971 as a two-man operation, the business has grown to employ over 160 staff and offers extensive knowledge and experience in aged care, healthcare, civic and retail architecture. The business has developed a series of Studying and Advancing Global Eldercare Tours, where industry professionals are taken overseas to study aged care in a global context. This innovative marketing strategy has helped Thomson Adsett Architects to develop long standing client relationships.

vending solutions provides automatic merchandising and services to over 2000 businesses in south east Queensland, including the supply and service of 1000 vending machines filled with 500 different products. Established in 1992 as a family business, vending solutions sees service as its point of difference and prioritises quality customer service to maintain its competitive edge. vending solutions currently employ 40 people, and provide ongoing training for staff, including customer service development, security and recording of data techniques and service provision seminars. Having started out as a local business, vending solutions is heavily involved in supporting local community initiatives and businesses.

J2 ideas & events

j2 ideas and events is a marketing and communications consultancy offering services such as creative direction, event management and entertainment negotiation. The client base ranges from local government agencies to community groups, private enterprise and interstate tourism bodies. Since 2004, j2 ideas and events has creatively directed Riverfire, Queensland's largest annual public celebration which attracts a public and television audience of nearly one million people every year. j2 ideas and events has recently embarked upon an additional growth phase and has introduced four separate business arms to the company.

Advanced Metal Turning Pty Ltd began operating in 1996, providing customers in Australia and overseas with precision machined metal components for use in advanced DNA and medical testing equipment in forensic and crime laboratories. Advanced Metal Turning also specialises in the precision machining of aluminium, steels and plastics for customers across a range of industries including the agricultural, automotive, aviation, building, leisure, marine and transportation sectors. Incorporating sophisticated technologies and software, Advanced Metal Turning currently employs 12 staff and supplies products and services to over 160 clients.

Danley Construction Products Pty Ltd

Danley Construction Products Pty Ltd design and manufacture concrete joint products for the building and construction industry throughout Australasia. Established in 1987, Danley has grown from a small garage operation to an Australia-wide business and today is the holder of patented products and distributors of 200 products. Danley recognises the needs of the industry to help control the cracking of concrete, and incorporates research, design and product testing into every product they manufacture. Ongoing liaison with those in the concrete industry allows Danley to create holistic, innovative solutions and offer technical advice and support from project inception to end.

Building Solutions Pty Ltd commenced operations in Queensland in 1983, to provide innovative, functional products to the building industry in Australia and overseas. Developing cost effective designs and using high-tech materials that are man-made, so as not to rely on natural resources, Building Solutions Pty Ltd produced Ritek Building Systems, which includes a range of wall systems and custom roof panels, combining aesthetic design features and functional building needs without compromising structural or environmental integrity. Today, Building Solutions supplies its products to the east coast of Australia and New Zealand.

Medimobile Pty Ltd provides businesses with a mobile influenza vaccination service, helping to reduce absenteeism in the workplace. Based in Brisbane, Medimobile's national network of doctors provides vaccinations to companies throughout Australia including BHP Billiton, Clayton Utz and Universal Pictures. In just three years, Medimobile has grown to become the second largest onsite workplace vaccination company with 22 staff and 150 contracted doctors.

Entitled Clothing Company

Entitled Clothing Company designs and manufactures signature women's fashion in sizes 8-32. The business has grown from one woman based in Moorooka Brisbane, to a national company with over 25 stylists. It now services thousands of women directly in their own homes. Entitled Clothing Company is essentially party plan based and offers women the opportunity to build and run a successful small business through servicing this niche market.

Wesley Corporate Health is a leading corporate health provider specialising in research-based, medically supervised programs focusing on executive health, workplace health, weight management, and injury prevention and rehabilitation. Founded in 1990, the business has worked with more than 700 private and public organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees. The business currently has four locations in Queensland and provides services for individual clients as well as the corporate market.

2006 AMP Innovation Award

Microskin International Pty Ltd

Microskin International Pty Ltd was formed with the aim of improving the confidence of skin condition sufferers. Applied topically over an affected area, Microskin International reduces the appearance of burns, scars, birthmarks and any other skin discolouration by creating a ‘simulated secondary skin'. The business was chosen to be part of a clinical trial at the Royal Brisbane Hospital Burns Unit.
