2009 Telstra New South Wales Business of the Year
Publisher Textiles
With a client list including cutting edge Australian fashion labels like
Lee Mathews, Zimmermann, Ksubi, Bird Textiles, Therese Rawsthorn
and Rittenhouse, Sydney textile company Publisher is doing more
than just surviving in the unpredictable world of the fashion industry.
In an environment where much print and textile development has
fallen victim to the pressure of offshore supply lines, Publisher is a
strong Australian brand able to offer local, handmade, high-quality,
competitive designs. The business began printing original fabrics and
garments from a rented corner in a friend’s factory and selling them
at Sydney market stalls on weekends. From there, Publisher quickly
developed a following with commissions from Sydney designers Akira
Isagowa and Nicola Finetti. Today, clients can select from a range
of distinctive Publisher designs and textile products, commission
customised artwork or provide their own to be created into signature
fabrics or wall coverings.

Financial Management Solution
Financial Management Solutions (FMS) is committed to lifelong
partnerships with its clients and this approach has enabled the company
to truly understand its clients’ changing needs while facilitating the
development and differentiation of its advice and service offerings.
Breaking through the stereotypes about financial planning organisations,
FMS’ client relationships extend beyond its clients’ financial needs,
often taking on the role of personal lifestyle coach, counsellor and mediator. They focus on advice, support and service not just the sale
of financial products. FMS recognises that while it is costly to provide
a quality service model, high service levels to clients result in long term
relationships and referrals. In the past three years FMS has also assisted
in raising over $300,000 for local sporting organisations and charities.
