Many of NSW’s brilliant businesses share a desire to empower their customers with expertise to make better decisions and improve their own businesses or personal lives.
Think Inc. hosts events that bring together leading world-class intellectuals, in an experience that blends together education and entertainment. The Entourage also provides unique educational methods for entrepreneurs with an emphasis on innovation, emotional intelligence and creativity.
Two media companies create content to educate their markets: Babyology brings baby product and services information to Australian parents; and Refraction Media engages students, teachers, parents and professionals with exciting content on science, technology, engineering and maths.
Sydney Criminal Lawyers disseminates information about NSW Courts and individual rights, through nine websites, social media channels and a mobile app. Meanwhile, Think China acts as a knowledgeable partner for Australian SMEs who are looking to enter the Chinese market.
Now in their 24th year, the Telstra Business Awards showcase and celebrate the achievements of Australia’s most brilliant small and medium businesses across five categories: New Business, Micro Business, Small Business, Medium Business and, for the first time, Charity, which is designed to recognise the significant contribution of not-for-profit organisations to not only communities but the economy as well.
Six inspiring NSW charities are finalists in this inaugural category. One of them is Love Mercy Foundation, which empowers women in Uganda to earn their own income by providing them with a loan of seeds, gardening tools and education on farming practices. The women then give back their loan of seeds so that it can benefit another like her, making it a sustainable project with extended reach.
Telstra Business Awards Ambassador, Andy Ellis, says this year’s finalists demonstrate the innovative, entrepreneurial spirit of Australian businesses.
“The Telstra Business Awards shine a light on brilliant businesses in every corner and every sector of Australia.”
“The 29 New South Wales finalists are diverse in their industries, but share similarities in their passion and determination to make their dream a profitable business. They strive to be the best at what they do and enable their customers to do so as well by sharing their expertise far and wide,” Mr Ellis said.
Winners of the 2016 Telstra NSW Business Awards will be announced on Friday 29 July, at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, in Sydney. State category winners will meet again in Sydney for the National judging on Thursday 25 August, culminating in a glittering celebration dinner on the night of Friday 26 August 2016.
Awards information and tickets for the Awards Gala Dinners can be purchased by calling 1800 AWARDS between 9am and 7pm AEST Monday to Friday.
